3AK Yamaha TZ250 1988 engine

1988 Yamaha TZ250 U 1988 reverse cylinder motor. Engine is complete as per the photos, it turns over by hand and the piston look clean when viewed up the exhaust port and through the reed block openings. The cranks also look fine. The crankcases are dirty and I'll give these a clean before packing. The clutch has fibre plates and a few steel plates, but there are a few steel plates missing as well as the springs and retaining bolts.

It's always wise to factor in a strip and rebuild with a race engine, however the good news is that bikes imported from Japan tend not to have been raced much - so you are more likely to get a low mileage engine relative to other parts of the world.
